Our client is a leading advisor to the M & A world. They are presently recruiting for a senior manager to take a leading role within their advisory practice. The department advises on all financial aspects of M & A and Private Equity to new or existing clients. Most transactions are in the range of Ј10m to Ј100m.
Purpose of the role:
- A manager must be capable of handling transactions with minimal involvement of a partner; must interface with client management, financiers and other professionals; know when to seek advice from other specialists (eg tax) and from partners and demonstrate commercial ability.
- A self-starter with a desire to initiate new business is essential.
Responsibilities:
The manager will:
- Advise clients directly on their transactions.
- Initiate approaches to management where a transaction may be contemplated.
- Plan and take part in active marketing to potential clients, intermediaries and sources of finance.
- Manage and develop staff.
- Manage a portfolio of assignments.
- Keep partners informed of progress on each job.
- Be responsible for client management including take on procedures and the recovery of all fees due on jobs in the portfolio;
- Participate in discussions as to the future plans and strategies of the unit.
- Identify new business and cross- selling opportunities
- Attend external networking opportunity events.
- Will be involved in producing draft proposals and support others in sales meetings as part of the team.
- Appraise, coach and mentor executives.
Qualifications:
- Must have a minimum of 4 years Lead Advisory experience with a minimum of two at manager level.
- ACA* ACCA qualified
- Can demonstrate own contribution to the completion and management of at least four deals within the Ј10-100 million range.
Person Specification:
Technical knowledge
- The manager must have (and continue to update) an excellent knowledge of financial structuring and sources of different types of finance and retain sufficient knowledge of financial reporting and tax matters to identify issues in transactions.
- Perceived credibility with non-corporate finance partners;
- Ability to generate own work.
- Inter-personal skills.
